SharePoint Fest 2012 Recap

SharePoint Fest Denver was a week ago now and I’m finally finding time to post this recap. It was a great event, especially for Neudesic. We had our Portals & Collaboration and Mobility GM’s in town to represent both practices and they each had a great experience. On the mobility side, Simon Guest was promoting SlingShot, which is a mobile solution for interacting with SharePoint data. Pretty slick, if you ask me. Check it out on GitHub if you’re interested (it’s free!)

I was also impressed by the interest in the sessions presented by Neudesic:

  • Ken Mears did a session on PowerView and some customization options that was well received.
  • Bart McDonough did a client side coding session that was in the large room and very well attended.
  • Jacob Wilson (link not available) did a session on SQL 2012 and looked at PowerView from the perspective of end users and reporting using semantic models
  • I did two sessions, links below. Both were great experiences for me and, I hope, the attendees as well. Everyone I talked to had nothing but positive feedback, despite my second session being rushed near the end.

Web Templates Overview (And here is the Clean Web Template I promised)
Yes, Records Management IS Possible in SharePoint 2010!

All in all, a great experience for me, the consultants at Neudesic who attended and presented, Neudesic as a whole, and attendees! Can’t wait for next year!
